Privacy Policy

Marinela Holistic Education (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website.

This Policy complies with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Barbados and incorporates principles aligned with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the benefit of our international community.

  • Technical data automatically collected, including IP address, browser type, and usage details.
  • We will only collect personal data when we have your explicit consent to do so.

We will not sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law. Data may be shared only with trusted service providers who assist in website operations, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Children's Information and Images

We hold personal information about the children in our care and about their families, and we handle it under the Data Protection Act, 2019.

Photographs and video of children are taken only on School devices, never on personal phones or cameras. We ask for your written consent when your child joins us and again at the beginning of each school year, and you choose separately how images of your child may be used. You may decline any or all of these without explanation and without any consequence for your child. We never publish a child's name alongside their image.

Images are stored on School systems and are deleted when they are no longer needed. Where we share images with you privately, we do so through Transparent Classroom.

Safeguarding records are kept separately from ordinary pupil files, in a locked cabinet or an encrypted, password-protected system, and are accessible only to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Deputy and the Principal / CEO. We share information with the Child Care Board, the Police and other statutory agencies where it is necessary to protect a child. The Data Protection Act, 2019 permits this.

Security cameras operate on parts of our site. They are never placed in toilets, changing areas or staff accommodation. Footage may be used in a safeguarding investigation with the authorisation of the Principal / CEO, and is held and deleted in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019.

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent to processing at any time.
Please contact us at info@marinelaeducation.com for assistance.
