Kindergarten Programme

Nurturing Growth

A gentle beginning, a lifelong love of learning...

At Marinela, we embrace the holistic philosophy of educating the hands, heart, and head. Our Kindergarten Programme is designed to allow children to develop skills, emotions, and understanding in ways that are appropriate for their age and stage of growth.

Our Kindergarten is a place of wonder and joy. The warmth and beauty of our classrooms, the carefully chosen playthings, artistic activities, and our natural environment all contribute to a nurturing space where children can flourish.

Through our gentle approach, we foster social, language, and practical skills via cooperative play, imitation, and daily routines. This holistic method ensures that learning is integrated into every aspect of a child’s experience.

Our environment is both welcoming and nurturing. Our daily and weekly routines are thoughtfully created to include a variety of enriching activities such as baking, cooking, painting, handwork crafts, sand and water play. Through these activities, alongside games, outdoor play, and housekeeping tasks, children engage in hands-on experiences that foster creativity, practical skills, and a sense of responsibility.

A Lifelong Love of Learning

Welcome to the Kindergarten

A place of love, harmony and joy for children aged 4 to 6, where we lay a strong foundation for formal learning and later life. Through gentle guidance and inspiration, children develop wonder, resilience and essential skills.

What We Do

We create an atmosphere where children feel safe and confident. We immerse them in a meaningful and beautiful daily rhythm. Each day combines creative activities, music, movement and close interaction with nature.

Our focus areas include:

  • Immersing in sensory experiences through play, art and observation of nature.
  • Strengthening the will forces through rhythm, repetition and purposeful movement.
  • Building social skills: Children learn to cooperate, share, help, and respect each other.
  • Developing language and imagination through stories, poems, songs, and narratives.
  • Fostering a love for work involves taking part in activities like gardening, cooking, and crafting simple items..

We guide our children to develop:

  • A sense of rhythm and order: daily rituals and activities bring stability and confidence.
  • Natural exploration: observing the changing seasons, working with natural materials, and learning about ecosystems.
  • Cultural traditions: through seasonal celebrations, songs, stories and crafts.
  • Social skills: respect for themselves and others, as well as the ability to work in groups.
  • Emotional resilience: understanding their emotions and learning to manage them.
  • Practical skills: working with natural materials, gardening, caring for their environment, cooking simple meals and crafting.
  • Creative abilities: developing imagination and fantasy through free play, artistic projects, and storytelling.
“If a child has been able in his play to give up his whole loving being to the world around him, he will be able, in the serious tasks of later life, to devote himself with confidence and power to the service of the world.”

What We Teach

At ages 4–6, children learn best through imitation and rich sensory experiences. We delay formal learning until age 6, when the child enters the elementary class; by honouring childhood in these early years, we ensure they step into formal education with enthusiasm, readiness, and a love of learning.

Building a strong foundation:

Our Kindergarten prepares children for formal learning by focusing on foundational skills that support healthy development and readiness for future academics:

  • Strengthening focus and perseverance: Through creative play, hands-on activities, and daily routines, children naturally develop focus, patience, and the willpower to complete tasks, which are essential for formal learning.
  • Building pre-academic skills: Activities like storytelling, singing, and rhythmic games lay the groundwork for literacy and numeracy by developing listening skills, sequencing, and an intuitive sense of patterns and numbers.
  • Encouraging social and emotional development: Collaborative play and group activities help children build confidence, cooperation, and communication skills, fostering the emotional resilience needed for future schooling.
  • Nurturing physical coordination: Practical activities like drawing, crafting, and outdoor play strengthen fine and gross motor skills, which are vital for writing and sitting comfortably during lessons.
  • Cultivating curiosity and imagination: A focus on exploration, creativity, and wonder fosters a love of learning that serves as a strong foundation for formal education.

“Play is the highest form of research.”

How We Do It

We create an environment for children that feels like a “second home.” All materials are natural, eco-friendly, and selected to inspire. Our team of educators carefully observes each child, guiding them with attention and care. Through storytelling, creativity, movement, and interaction with nature, we nurture not just children but future confident, conscious, and happy individuals.

Why It Matters

Our Kindergarten is a place where children learn to live in harmony with themselves and the world around them. Many of the values, skills and characteristics desired in studious children and well-rounded adults are laid as foundation stones in the Kindergarten.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child as we discover the wonders of childhood together.

“Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better.”

— Magda Gerber
The Foundation of a Lifetime

Watch “Becoming...”

Filmed across continents and cultures, Becoming offers an intimate glimpse into the universal language of early childhood. Through tender images and reflective voices, it explores the first seven years of life as fertile ground, where movement, play, relationship and wonder quietly shape the future adult. The film gently reminds us that who a child becomes is shaped not by achievement, but by presence, rhythm and love. These early years lay the foundation for the individual and, in turn, for humanity.
